Friday Night Fellowship

Fridays at 7:00pm in Wooten 322

“Friday Night Fellowship” is our weekly large-group meeting. We get together as a community of believers to celebrate and worship God and to connect with one another. We meet Friday evenings at 7pm in Wooten Hall Room 322.

Here are some things you can expect on a typical Friday night:

  1. Our worship leadership team will prepare to lead us in songs that express and profess the powerful truths of our faith. Many weeks we have a band, but some weeks are more acoustic or even a cappella.
  2. We’ll have time of teaching or preaching or discussion based out of God’s word. We hope this time is challenging to each of our lives and we encourage everyone to bring something to take notes.
  3. There are usually announcements and sharing from students that helps us stay united and on the same page as a spiritual family on campus.
  4. We use this time to connect and build new friendships. People show up a few minutes early to talk and many go out after to hang out. Our fellowship time starts when the first people show up and ends when the last people go home.

Too often today, people misunderstand the purpose of Christian assembly and come asking all the wrong questions: "Do I like the music? Was the sermon enjoyable? Were the people friendly to me?"

Jesus taught us a different way: “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” We ought to come asking a different set of questions—Are my attitude and actions in worship pleasing to God and encouraging to those around me? What changes in my thoughts, attitudes, feelings, and/or actions are the Spirit calling me to through the songs, scriptures, prayers, and sermon? Was I friendly and outreaching to people tonight?

We hope you come and try it at least once!
