Laurence Glenesk

Campus Missionary - laurence@anyfocus.org - blog

Despite attempts to hide his native accent, Laurence actually hails from the UK. After moving with his family to DFW at age 10, he attended UNT and graduated with a BBA in Business. Laurence played the role of resident nerd and board gamer while on staff at UTD for 5 years, before leading our team at SMU. When not talking about C. S. Lewis, Laurence is passionate about investing in students and equipping them to be outward focused. He is married to Sarah and they are expecting their first child this Fall.

Amber Rodriguez

Campus Missionary - amber.loflin@anyfocus.org - blog

Amber started off her college experience spending most of her day locked in a study room, convincing herself that straight-A’s were the way to salvation. It wasn’t until her junior year in nursing school, when she got her first B (and maybe cried), that she found FOCUS and realized God had so much more in store for her than a perfect report card. Blown away by what God was doing through FOCUS on other campuses and how it had changed her heart, she decided to start FOCUS at TWU Dallas. In 2019, Amber completed the FOCUS apprenticeship at SMU, and she loved it so much that she decided to stay on the FOCUS staff part-time while she works as a nurse.

Ashlyn Bartel

Pastoral Apprentice - ashlyn.bartel@anyfocus.org - blog

I first discovered and joined FOCUS at Southern Methodist University, where I graduated with a BA in Psychology. I believe God called me to stay at the SMU campus to build on and minister to relationships both old and new as I strive to learn more about Him. I have a passion for playing keys on worship teams, reading, and taking long road trips with friends!

Siena Walter

Pastoral Apprentice - siena.walter@anyfocus.org - blog

Before moving to Dallas to attend UTD and major in Business Administration, Siena grew up in the Austin area. While she left behind the beautiful Hill Country, she gained deep, spiritual friendships from the FOCUS community that changed the trajectory of her faith. After graduating, Siena felt called to work with the ministry that impacted her so greatly. This year she joins our team at SMU to share the love of Jesus with the students there. She loves walking around the flat (but surprisingly pretty) Dallas area and finding new places to show to her friends.
