BACK TO SEATTLE (5/22)
On Friday, everyone will be leaving Bellingham to go back to Seattle! Based on your flight time, you may be returning BEFORE FNF or you may be leaving AFTER FNF.
THURSDAY NIGHT, please pack up all of your belongings to be ready to take with you to the church in the morning. Make sure you tell your host family that this is your last night with them and give them any cards or gifts you may have prepared for them! When you arrive at the church on Friday morning, unload all of your luggage into the designated space at the church.
After lunch and during clean up, if you are listed in either of the screenshots below in a car/van (leaving before or after FNF), please put your luggage in the vehicle that is driving you back to Seattle. If you are on the bus, you may leave your luggage at the church—your luggage will be loaded onto the bus for you later (so make sure you don’t have any loose items and everything is consolidated).

BELLINGHAM TRAVEL DAY (5/16)
We are leaving for Bellingham on 5/16 at 9:30am SHARP. So make sure you’re all packed up and ready to go by 9:00am so that you can load your luggage. Load your luggage onto the bus unless you’re told otherwise! You’ll find your car/bus assignment on the image below. If you’re in a car, your driver should be reaching out shortly!
When cleaning your room, pay special attention to the bathroom and for any plugs and chargers under tables, things in the fridge, etc. Just do a sweep of your room before you drop your keycard off at the front desk! And make sure to thank all of their workers for taking care of us while we were here.
You’ll meet your host families tomorrow at the welcome reception!
On Saturday, 5/16, we’ll be leaving Seattle and making our way to Bellingham! Make sure you’re all packed up, because we’re leaving at 9:30am SHARP. You’ll be assigned a seat in a car, van, or on a charter bus. We’ll first stop by Larrabee State Park where you’ll have the opportunity to see some starfish and other sea life in the tide pools and walk along the beach. We’ll then stop by downtown Bellingham where you can check out the thrift stores, record shops, and grab a bite to eat! Afterwards, we’ll make our way to Western Washington University. We’ll take a group photo at The Stairs To Nowhere and you can visit the bookstore and grab some WWU merch (to prove you came to SICM). We’ll then stop by Lake Padden Park to witness a baptism, stroll around the lake or lay on the grass, and eat a pizza dinner! Lastly, we’ll end our evening at Cordata Presbyterian Church to check in and for the SICM Welcome Reception where you’ll meet your host family for the first time! You’ll then be sent home with them to pack your lunch, retire for the night, and get ready for SICM on Sunday!

SEATTLE HOTEL ROOM ASSIGNMENTS
- If you are joining us on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday, we will be staying at the Comfort Inn & Suites next to SeaTac airport. 19333 International Blvd, SeaTac, WA 98188.
- Once you land, follow the signs to Courtesy Vehicles. (It should be next to baggage claim)
- You may need to go up the stairs in order to cross the skybridge to the parking garage.
Find stairs to go down to level 3 in the parking garage. There, you will see 3 islands labeled 1-3, A-D (1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, 3A, 3B, 3C, 3D). - Call the hotel at 206-878-1100 and let them know which island you are at so that they can send a shuttle to pick you up! The shuttle runs 24/7.
- Your room assignments are below. Please note, there are 2 beds per room, so most of you will be sharing a bed with someone!
SEATTLE EXCURSIONS AND SCHEDULE
The Pike Place Market excursion on Thursday will be led by Paul Micus and Leo Reyes. They plan to leave the hotel at 10am and taking the light rail to Pike Place Market. This excursion can help familiarize you with taking public transportation in Seattle. Once you’re in Pike Place, feel free to touch the Gum Wall, wait in line to enter the first Starbucks, buy some souvenirs, get a picture in front of the Public Market Center sign, or get some mac and cheese from Beecher’s!
The Bainbridge Island Ferry excursion on Thursday will be led by Bailey Crawford. Meet at the Ferry Terminal early and buy your ticket to take the 2:05pm ferry to Bainbridge Island! Explore the Winslow neighborhood: stop by Eagle Harbor Book or Coquette Bake Shop to get some photos for the ‘gram. Then make your way back to the terminal (at your own pace), but definitely before the last ferry leaves!
The Discovery Park Hike excursion on Friday will be led by Stian Valnes. Leaving the hotel at 9am, you’ll take public transportation to Discovery Park where you’ll hike your way to the West Point Lighthouse. Snacks and water will be provided!
