Bienvenidos a Mi Gente Ministry, a vibrant and inclusive group within FOCUS dedicated to serving Hispanic and Latino students. At Mi Gente, we celebrate our cultural heritage while fostering a strong community of faith and support among our diverse student body. Come be a part of any or all we have to offer!

Our Mission

Mi Gente Ministry exists to create a welcoming space where Hispanic and Latino students can explore and deepen their faith journey within the context of their cultural identity. We are committed to:

Cultural Celebration: Embracing and celebrating the rich diversity of Hispanic and Latino cultures through events, activities, and traditions that honor our heritage.
Spiritual Growth: Providing opportunities for spiritual growth, reflection, and formation through prayer, worship, Bible study, and discussions that resonate with our cultural perspectives.
Community Building: Cultivating a supportive community where students can connect, build relationships, and find solidarity in their faith and life experiences.
Service and Outreach: Engaging in service projects and outreach initiatives that address the needs of both our campus community and the broader society, reflecting our commitment to social justice and compassion.

What We Offer

Regular Gatherings: Frequent meetings featuring discussions, guest speakers, and activities that explore faith topics from a Hispanic and Latino perspective.
Core en Espanol! We gather every week in small groups called Cores where we share life, pray, and read the Bible together. This is a great way to make friends. No matter your faith journey, you’re invited.
FOJ en Espanol! Learning about faith can be challenging enough, let alone trying to study the Bible in a language you are not most familiar with. FOJ en Espanol is designed to help you ask questions and explore who Jesus is in your heart language! Nos encantaría estudiar contigo.
Cultural Events: Celebratory gatherings such as Hispanic Heritage Month festivities and cultural showcases that highlight the diversity and beauty of our traditions.
Social Activities: Fun and engaging social events including movie nights, dinners, and outings that strengthen friendships and create lasting memories.
