B.L.I.S.S- BLACK LIVES IN SOULFUL SOLIDARITY

SPEED FRIENDING IS TUESDAY, SEPT 10th @ 7 pm in the ECSW 1st Floor Atrium-
Hope to see you there!!

WHO ARE WE?

We are the black students within FOCUS; our goal is to be a black, Christian space within our ministry and on our campus, where black culture is learned, experienced, and celebrated.

WHAT DO WE DO?

When you come to anything BLISS you can expect to learn and experience black culture in some facet-whether that’s through discussions, dancing, playing, serving together, special events, or deepening our faith & friendships at The Grove every Friday night (7pm usually in HH 2.402!).

WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?

In alignment with Revelation 7:9, we, FOCUS, as a multicultural/ethnic ministry seeks to embrace and live out the kingdom vision of “every nation tribe people and language standing before the throne and before the lamb.” Therefore we, BLISS, chose this name because we are black lives in solidarity not just with each other as black people, but with all people, tribes, and nations who are made in the image of God! The same way that Jesus is about erasing dividing lines between people, BLISS wants to follow Jesus’s example and be about that too! And the way we’re gonna erase those lines is gonna be soulful because…well…we’re black 🙂

And in case it needs to be stated plainly: WE WANT YOU TO JOIN US WHETHER YOU ARE BLACK OR NOT!

In BLISS (and in FOCUS), we want you to come and belong with us. No prerequisites needed 🙂

So, come check us out! We wanna meet you!

A FEW OTHER BITS OF INFO:

  • We are associated with a larger community of churches and FOCUS ministries throughout the Dallas, Denton, and Arlington areas.
  • We have an historic statement of faith and see ourselves as part of the global and historical community of people who have decided to attach themselves to Jesus.

Hopefully we will have the opportunity to bless your college experience in some way.
