RELEASE is a show put on by B.L.I.S.S to celebrate and honor Black History by showcasing black artists and black art!

B.L.I.S.S stands for Black Lives in Soulful Solidarity and was created for black students in the FOCUS community  as a space to be seen, connected with, and celebrated.

When you come to RELEASE, you can expect an experience! We will have spoken word, a West African dance and drum ensemble, a New Orleans Brass Band, professional modern, contemporary, and hip hop dancers, professional singers, instrumentalists, as well as performances from college students that are a part of FOCUS from UTD, UTA, UNT, Dallas College, and Collin College.

We would love to have you! All are welcome!

Here’s a quick glimpse at some of the people you’ll be spending your evening with! To experience our full line up, you’ll just need to come!

While B.L.I.S.S is very much in its beginning stages, we are hopeful that it will continue to grow and produce events and gatherings such as RELEASE. If you are interested in what B.L.I.S.S is doing, you can email lailah.duke@anyfocus.org to learn more!
