SOPHIE WILLIS

Co-Director - Arlington Campuses - sophie.willis@anyfocus.org | blog

Sophie first joined FOCUS as a freshman at UTA after seeing some signs around campus. She grew up in church, surrounded by people who loved her and God profoundly. However, it wasn’t until her time at UTA that she encountered God personally. Here, she learned to follow Jesus wholeheartedly and developed a big heart for college students. Sophie graduated with her B.S. in Biology, intending to attend veterinary school. However, God called her in a different direction! Aside from campus ministry, Sophie loves doing pottery, being outside, and laughing with anyone about anything.

RHETT HAYES

Co-Director - Arlington Campuses rhett@anyfocus.org | blog

Rhett first joined FOCUS as a seventeen-year-old freshman with bad hair at the University of Texas at Dallas. There, he learned what it means to follow Jesus and disciple others. After realizing the heart God had given him for ministry, he decided to pursue a life in college ministry. After apprenticing with FOCUS in Denton in 2017, he came back to his alma mater, and has been pastoring students there and growing closer to God ever since. Because he missed the feeling of having to write research papers, he's now pursuing a Master of Arts in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary while pastoring on campus.

Austin graduated from the University of North Texas in 2014. He loves movies, disc golf, and reading all sorts of books. But his greatest passion is to make disciples of Jesus. Austin seeks to share the love of God with every person that he interacts with and he couldn't be more excited about his opportunity to do this on the college campus.

BAILEY CRAWFORD

Campus Missionary - bailey.crawford@anyfocus.org | blog

Bailey grew up in many places before finally settling in Plano. She received her Associates Degree in Elementary Education from Collin College (go Cougs), and later transferred to Texas Woman’s University to study Child Development. Bailey showed up to Collin searching for friendship, and FOCUS was there and ready to provide. Now she joins our team at UT Arlington with the hopes offering that same meaningful friendship to others. When she isn’t meeting with students, she is on the hunt for the perfect iced coffee, reading different memoirs, or trying and rating Crumbl Cookie flavors with her roommates.

GRAHAM SPENCER

Campus Missionary - graham.spencer@anyfocus.org | blog

Graham first got involved with FOCUS in 2016 at Collin College. He caught a vision for what God was doing on campus and has planned on doing the FOCUS Apprenticeship since 2017. While studying Print Making at the UNT, he grew a deeper understanding of art, his fellow art students, and his role in the kingdom. He loves meeting new people, asking deep and weird questions to understand them better, and living life alongside them. He also loves rock climbing, his hilarious wife, Emily, and creating out-there conceptual art pieces. He once learned how to make, walk on, and teach 20 other friends how to use stilts for a self proclaimed holiday called, “Community Stilt Day”. It was a good day.

MADISON MCBRIDE

Madison is known for being an iced coffee, connoisseur, lover of mountains, or her old truck Spidy! She graduated from Texas woman’s university in 2024 with my bachelor's in business administration! During her time in college she got involved in FOCUS and has now worked in Arlington for a year. Her personal mission on the campuses of UTA and TCC, is to advocate for students to take the next steps in their faith and dive in deeper with God. She believes that college is a crucial time in our lives where we make decisions that will impact our futures and she believes that Jesus, speaking into those decisions, will set them up for life to the full.

JULIANNE BENGE

Apprentice - julianne.benge@anyfocus.org | blog

Hi, I’m Juli! I graduated from UTA in 2023 with my bachelor’s in nursing, and during my time there I discovered how deeply Jesus loves me. That truth changed everything, and now I feel called to help students at UTA come to know Him too. I care deeply about people and love walking alongside them in both the joyful and hard parts of life. Coffee is usually in my hand, and joy is something I hope to share wherever I go.

JOSHUA KRAUSE

Apprentice - joshua.krause@anyfocus.org | blog

Joshua first began attending FOCUS during his Junior year at the University of Texas at Arlington. He was not a Christian at the time, but could immediately sense the love and friendship that the community had. He gave his life to Christ the summer between his undergraduate degree and his masters degree, both in Social Work. FOCUS was the perfect place for him to pursue and learn more about Jesus. FOCUS is a place where he continued to grow in his faith and create roots. He found that he had never been more passionate or dedicated about anything or anyone than God, and realized that he would love to have the chance of pursuing college Ministry!

LEO REYES

Apprentice - leo.reyes@anyfocus.org | blog

Leo first joined FOCUS in the fall of 2022 as a sophomore at UNT! It was at the following FOCUS Winter Retreat where God met him and eventually led him to a goal of sharing Jesus and serving the same community for future generations of college students. Try to figure out the 2 truths and 1 lie about Leo: He’s loosely related to a Nobel Prize winner, he was kicked by a horse when he was 9, he went on a mission trip to Florida one summer where he worked at Universal Studious to share Jesus in a Harry Potter uniform.
